At Randles Hotel, we are nestled in the heart of Killarney and it’s stunning landscapes, thus we believe that true hospitality extends beyond providing comfort; it includes protecting the very environment that makes our location so special. Randles is not just beautiful — it’s beautifully sustainable.
At Randles, sustainability is now a commitment woven into the fabric of our operations. We’re on a continuous journey to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute positively to our community and the planet. Our guests come from all over the world to experience the pristine beauty of Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, and the charming local culture. Preserving this natural capital ensures that future generations, and future visitors, can enjoy it just as much as we do today.
From Gas to Green: Hot Water, Reimagined
In 2020, we replaced our gas-fuelled calorifiers with a high-efficiency Air Source Heat Pump system. This transition allows us to run domestic hot water using renewable energy, significantly reducing our dependency on fossil fuels.

Waste Not, Want Not
We’ve embraced a zero-to-landfill goal, composting food waste, reducing single-use plastics, and working with local recycling partners.
Water & Wise
Low-flow shower heads and dual-flush toilets are the unsung heroes of our eco-guest rooms. We also encourage towel and linen reuse to save gallons of water daily .
Local & Lovely
Our chefs are obsessed — in the best way — with local suppliers. From Dingle Goats Cheese to our Locally-sourced filler steak or our Muckross gin & tonic cheesecake, every bite on your plate supports sustainable Irish producers.
Engaging Our Guests:
We believe sustainability is a team effort. We provide information in guest rooms encouraging responsible practices, such as recycling and conserving water. Your small actions contribute to a bigger impact!
Coffee Cup Project:
We also become a proud member of the Killarney Coffee Cup Project, aiming to save one million coffee cups from being sent to landfill each year.
The Positive Impact: More Than Just Green Numbers
Our sustainability initiatives aren’t just about meeting targets; they contribute to:
• A Healthier Environment: Directly reducing pollution and conserving precious natural resources.
• A Better Guest Experience: Knowing that your stay supports responsible tourism, enhancing your peace of mind.
