The Wild Atlantic Way stretches across the West Coast of Ireland, In Kerry, you’ll find one of the most stunning sights on the Wild Way and some say in Ireland. The Ring of Kerry and the National Park both cross with the Wild Atlantic Way and are home to some of Ireland’s best views.
Ring of Kerry
You can join the Wild Atlantic Way driving point from many routes across Kerry if you choose to drive. There are also many coach day trips that regularly travel the most popular spots across the Ring and allow you to stop and explore the scenic walking routes. The Ring of Kerry is 120 miles along and would take about 3 and half hours without stopping to travel the whole route, we recommend that you take the day to stop and explore this unique landscape.
Gap of Dunloe
One of the most popular stops in Kerry and Ireland, the Gap of Dunloe is the separation of two large mountain ranges. The Gap was created over 25’000 years ago during the last ice age of Ireland, the gap was formed and created the lakes and the stunning route you see today. Walking and exploring the gap is a must, the most popular route is to start at Kate Kearneys cottage – a 170 year old bar and restaurant (a must stop).
Skellig Michael
Known well around the world in recent years, Skellig Michael has now become famous for being a main location in the Star Wars. film. The stone huts featured in the film were once the homes of monks that lived a simple life on the island. The island is home to thousands of birds including Puffins, who were the special inspiration for some lovable characters in the movie. Boat tours are available at certain times of the year to explore this island.
The Lakes of Killarney
Within the National Park you will find the three main lakes of Killarney, Muckross Lake, Lough Leane and Upper Lake. The lakes are surrounded by the mountain ranges of Killarney. As the lakes are within the national park you will find many attractions nearby such as Muckross House. Boat tours are available across the lakes to some wonderful historic sites such as Ross castle.

- At roundabout take the 4th exit onto the N71 (signposted Kenmare)
- At small roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the N71
- Continue towards Muckross and N71
